The TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) facility at AIIMS, New Delhi, first came into existence on 5th of September 2009 and was inaugurated by the then director, AIIMS New Delhi, Prof. Ramesh.C. Deka. Since then, the neuromodulation facility, particularly TMS, has expanded and contributed significantly to the area of neuromodulation in the country. The TMS facility at Department of Psychiatry AIIMS, New Delhi was granted as India’s first Centre for Advanced Research & Excellence (CARE) in Neuromodulation for Mental Health by the Indian Council Of Medical Research (ICMR). This project is headed by Prof. Nand Kumar since its inception in 2018 at Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS New Delhi.
